Just wondering if anyone is watching Red Wings vs Blackhawks on HD NET tonight.

For some reason I am blacked out (ext. 727) However it is on, on FSD 636.

You answered your own question ;)

Sounds like you're in the Red Wings market.

Only out of market folks for both teams get to watch the HDNet games.

I am 50 miles from Detroit, across the Ohio line, much closer than Columbus where FS Ohio comes from.

Talked to D* a few minutes ago, they told me I was NOT in red wing terittory, acording to the zip codes they go by... Therefore I also do not get FSD as my RSN

They are talking out of both sides of thier mouth.
This game looks like crap in SD, I watched the 1st period in HD off my friends Cable box, came home , flipped on HD NET and was blacked out.

I figured with HD net being National, that I would not be blacked out.

Are Cable and D* broadcast different, refering to blackouts ?

How is it that Cable can give me Fox sports Detroit, Ohio and Cincy, while D* can't do Detroit ????

The guy I spoke with looked up some info on the new dish, it has 4 inputs, just like the triple LNB dish.

If you don't get FSD on 636 how come you said your watching it on that channel?

I failed to mention, as my channel I should get with the Total Choice package., when I go down to that package.

I am currently on the NFL promo sub, premier pack, for buying the ST., that expires at the end on November.

Ok well then that helps.

It's still the case that you must be in the Wings market because the game on FSND would be blacked out if you weren't.

But the way D* works is you only get the FSND games if you order the sports pack becuase they consider FSND a secondary market and want to make you pay more for it.

If you type your zip code into this page - http://www.directvsports.com/asp/active/RSN_Info.asp you should see what I'm talking about that backs me up

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing what your saying at all.
I am just frustrated , with the varying rules that change from network to D* and cable to the individual station to the Head of that perticular sport.

I feel if I am paying extra for programming, I should be able to get the channel

OK heres adifferent Q. If when my promo package runs out and I start to purchase the FSN's, I will then get the Red Wings, because I am paying addl. for it.... Will I then get the Wings in HD on any of the HD channels ?

I don't want to buy the C I package because I will have already missed 2 2 months of the season, I don't think they discount the C I package.

The NHL should be FREE this year anyway, but thats a whole other topic ....

If you're getting the Wings games on the FSN then yes you'll continue to get them without NHL CI
