Anyone use the DS2PVR to copy from their Hopper

Why would I need optical? Either one has hdmi input and pass through. Wouldn't hdmi pass 5.1 along. My what doesn't have Dolby Digital?

Yes, I saw that. That's why I asked if anyone had already used that or a similar device to copy from their Hopper. Before I drop the money I want to make sure someone has already found it to work. Other than HBO, which channels use HDCP?

If I do get one, I may very well get that one since it says satellite box in the description of sources. As I said, I was hoping to find someone with experience with using a device to copy from the Hopper to a PC.

So which is cheaper, we know which is more portable, a DVD disk at 20cents for 4.7GB for SD plus, or an HDD at $80 for 2TB?
Which is easier to use? The DVD would require more expensive BluRay for HD.

I've considered BD-R for my long-term storage. 50pk for $26.99 at amazon...at 25GB each, it comes to 1.25TB for $27, plus cost of a Blu-Ray burner.
