I have owned one c-band lnbf, a cheapo I bought from eBay. It was made of steel and the inside of it rusted and quit working in a few months.

Is the C2 made out of aluminum? If it is, I might look into buying one.

I am not sure if its made of aluminum but my cband dish is using a Geosat Pro C Band LNB and I have had really good results with it.

I've got 4 or 5 of them here...2 are on my C-Band dishes and the rest are backups. Have used them for a couple years here in Minnesota
works real well and its a dual output so you can run multiple receivers off of it (2 from the get-go....more with a multiswitch)

take it for what its worth ;)

Only thing other qualm I have...as you move across the arc, the skew changes. So if you skew the feedhorn to perfection on you true south satellite, and go max east or west, the skew will have changed, and you won't get full signal reception.

the skew will change properly per whatever satellite you are on. On a fixed dish you skew the LNB for the satellite and your location. But a motorized you tune in true south at 0 and the actuator/motor will skew the dish properly as you move across the arc. Actually you gain a little more signal because the whole dish is being skewed and not just the LNB like you would on a fixed dish

Let me make sure I follow, I set the skew mark on the feedhorn at 0 on my true south satellite?

If you are using a motorized dish (well an actuator) that moves the dish from satellite to satellite then yes you set the skew to 0 on your true south satellite and leave it. Now on the C2 and a few other C-Band LNB's the skew is off by 90 degrees so you would mount the LNB 0 skew to 9:00 or 3:00 (if looking at a clock)

see the pic below. This is my 6 footer with the skew pretty much at 0
