All the companies I talk to say you must have someone else install the equipment for about $1000. Is there anyone who has installed their own broadband satelliete or knows a company that allows self installation? Thanks, Dan.

Are you talking about Starband or Direcway?

2-way satellite dishes with microwave transmitters require a certified installer. No company that wants to continue doing business with a provider will allow a self install as it violates their agreement.

If you can find one 2nd hand it may be the only way. btw, they are very difficult to install compared to a regular tv satellite dish.
