Anyone have the code to skip forward?

So everything that might get them in trouble is off-limits?

No wonder true innovation is hard to find at DIRECTV.

Of course not, what a foolishly broad and over reaching statement. Maybe they just have enough smarts not to needlessly get themselves into trouble. Oh, and how do you define "true innovation"? Anything Dish comes up with that Directv doesn't have?

EPIX :whoo::D

Is it? Other than some seldom-used search features, I'm not sure DIRECTV is in more than a couple ways ahead of DISH technology-wise (other than where DIRECTV was forced to go by other business decisions).

Maybe they just wait for others to deliver and slowly grind out a comparable offering?

Innovation is coming up with products and offerings that fill an expressed need.

DISH does what they do because that's what they think their customers want. DIRECTV doesn't do a lot of the same things perhaps because they're more concerned about their vendors and shareholders than their customers.

The other side of the development process is trying to cobble things together to figure out how to squeeze the last penny out of each subscriber.

There are a couple of DIRECTV HD DVR feature that I'd like to have available on DISH:
  • back-to-back recordings have their respective endings and beginnings.
  • Program starts and stops to one minute resolution

Really? You're sitting there and using this to describe Directv? Sorry but you just described Dishnetwork to a T! Sorry One 3 tuner hopper and 3 Joeys are not 4 room systems as much as dishes website and marketing department want you to believe.
At least a Genie with 3 C31s can all watch live tv at the same time.

If you're watching a lot of live TV, you're either a sports fanatic, news/weather junkie or you haven't figured out how to effectively use DVR capability.

If you need another Hopper, you can get one. WIth DIRECTV, one Genie is it.

It isn't how many of something you can get but the available feature set.

Yup, like dropping channels consistently
That's a rather hackneyed argument that somehow always makes it into hardware comparisons.

The sad part is that it isn't really true. I'm betting you can't remember the last time it happened, much less present a timeline showing consistency.

.
You know nothing. I have a Genie , HR23, and 2 H25s and if I want to add more HD DVRs I can. You must be thinking about Dish again you can only have 2 hoppers before you have to BUY a 3rd for $349 and all the switches needed for a 3 hopper setup. and you might as well throw out your 722's or 922's cause none of them can be active on a hopper account.

Who said it was only about hardware?

amazing how a simple question like "what is the code to do a 30 skip" turns into a pissing match of "my girlfriend is bigger than yours"....and its always funny yet sad as hell to see our resident Directv hating troll coming here trying to compare stuff when he has no clue.

This is what happens when you have a question and it's answered satisfactory and the thread is able to continue ...

I have no objection to allowing others to throw in thier ideas and thoughts, I do it all the time, but thats why you get the trolls when a thread like this goes 3+ pages when it was answered in the first 5 posts.

The OP tried very hard to end the thread to his credit.... :)

Question was answered perfectly early on in the thread.

By all means please close thread it's gotten out of hand.

You got it my friend. Some members forget there are rules on this site for trolling.those rules will be enforced.
