Anyone else hate the new StarzHD logo?

I'm not sure when it was added, but I just noticed it this weekend. It is way too bright and distracting. The orange and black really stands out. It also seems like they've been putting it on the screen quite a bit more than they used to with the old semi transparent logo.

I am with you!!! HATE IT. Its bad enough to have logos on the standard channels but premiums should be logo free and the new Starz logo is the worst.

I only have it on D* as well . But I think it looks fine to me as well.

That is my problem with it as well. I pay for the channel, I know what it is (I even tuned to it on my own), I don't need them to remind me what I'm watching.

Rocky is right it isn't close to as bad as TNT but that isn't saying much

I don't know how to do a screenshot (without just taking a digital picture) so maybe someone else who is better at those things can do it. Sorry.

HBO is the only movie channel that hasn't followed everyone else with their stupid logo bugs. (except HBO Comedy). I sent a notice to HDNet to inform them their HDNET MOVIES logo is being clipped because it's too low and should be moved up or better yet removed.

They want to show movies in their original form? Then remove the logo!

That is my problem with it as well. I pay for the channel, I know what it is (I even tuned to it on my own), I don't need them to remind me what I'm watching.

Do these idiots really think I 1) care what the channel is or need a remider what it is or 2) am going to watch some stupid show just because they stuck the name on the screen for an hour. What idiot(s) came up with this as a productive way to promote other shows or the channel itself? If anything, I refuse to even look at the show.

The "idiots" came up with this way of advertising shows, when they realized that no one was watching the actual commercials since the advent of the DVR and Tivo. But it still bugs me.

This may just be the overscan on your TV. Do you have it set to 1:1 pixel mapping?

I know it's the overscan in the TV. 50" Panasonic plasma. The thing is it's not just my TV. HDNet is not figuring enough of an allowance for overscan. Most HD sets I hook up every day are the same way. Not every HD set is created equal. A local station of mine discovered the same thing after receiving many complaints that their station logo and time stamp were going off screen.

If only ALL the channels' logos were "clipped" - all the way off my screen, that is. Minus ten points to you sir, for bringing it to their attention.

If I were paying extra for a premium channel (I don't think $0.01 a year really gives me much clout) and they were doing this, I would be complaining at the channel every day and threatening to cancel.

This may just be the overscan on your TV. Do you have it set to 1:1 pixel mapping?

What is "1:1 pixel mapping?" Is that setting the receiver to deliver native picture to your TV? eg. 720p:720p instead of 1080i:720p.

I have played around with different pixel rates on the receiver and it results in overscan on some, but not all channels regardless of rates and regardless of SD or HD TV screen. If there is a fix, please share.

Well HDNet responded and admitted that many consumer displays are not set properly (their opinion) due to variances in native display resolution and scaler issues. (duh!) Yet it's my TV's problem. Instead of blaming the TV manufacturers it would be an easy fix to just conform to the largest overscan variance and move the logo. Overscan is not just something that can be adjusted or expect 90% of TV owners to do. They have a hard enough time operating a remote.

HDNet says they're within the safe title area, yet they are the only ones whose logo is cut off. If they are inside the safe title area they are right on the very edge of it.
