I won't go into all the details, but through multiple phone calls I did get to the VIP Dept. My first time to do so. The net effect was Regular Sunday Ticket for $140 and a $200 Visa gift card on top of that. No change to my package, no change to current discounts, no contract.
The person in Retention that I was first working with didn't know what the VIP Department was. I kindly insisted that he ask his supervisor about it and they were able to transfer me. At the end when the VIP person was reviewing all we had agreed on, one of the things she mentioned was "I will cancel your request to disconnect." So when you're in the VIP Dept., you really are one step away from closing your account. Never felt that way in Retention even though that may have been the reality.
I still have one lingering question: With Regular Sunday Ticket, can I use the ST app on my phone or computer? The VIP lady said I could, but that doesn't sound right.
Even if I can't, I'm happy.
