Hunting around for a delivered 120cm dish for three bills or less, I came across a GEOSATpro 1.2 meter dish. I'm awaiting a response about shipping, but as the dish has a MSRP of $109, even with $175 shipping I'd be happy ;) The stats seem pretty much on par with the Fortec's, and it even has better Aperture Efficiency... also comes in spiffy-looking charcoal color :p

If the mount is anything like the one in this review I'll be really happy. I'm currently using a standard Winegard J-mount off the house, and this would let me put it on the shed with better support. I've heard the rumours, but I wondered if anyone here's actually used one of these?

TIA

I use the 36" version of this dish and it works and looks great. Great results when teamed up with the Invacom LNBF!

Any issues with the mount? I noticed that the 120cm version has a 76 mm / 3" mast diameter, and the Fortec has a 45 – 75 mm... might have to slide some pvc piping in between the Sg2100 and the Geosat, and that sends off all kinds of alarm bells in my head ;) I suppose if a bolt could still be run all the way through the mount and motor arm it wouldn't be too bad when tightened down...

No problems this end with the mount (I used my DirecPC mount), if you split the PVC pipe length ways it should tighten up nicely!

How's the thickness? SOME people have described them as 'tin foil,' but I later heard they much improved things, and the specs look good on wind resistance, etc.

If I remember I will measure the thicknosity tonight! Seems fine, holding up well in the wind!
