Anyone able to pair a dish remote with a sony tv (for tv apps)?

Just bought a Sony 49x900f TV yesterday and was really hoping I could get my dish remote to pair with the TV completely. I am able to pair it enough to get into the apps page, but can't use arrows on dish remote to scroll through apps.

Was really hoping to be able to use just one dang remote!

I am using the 40.0 remote, but have the others (except the google assistant one)

Well, I thought I had it. Got the menu button on the Dish remote to open the apps, got the right arrow to go right. Then I went ahead and tried to teach it the select button, left, up, down.

And now I can't even use the menu to bring anything up.
Maybe there's a limit on how many things you can teach the remote?

Pulling my hair out. Gonna take a break for awhile.

650's are getting hard to find. The 665 is its replacement. And yes, do that!

Yes I had to pull out my magnifying glass to confirm 665. I have one of each. the 665 seems the better of the two,
