Anybody want a WebTV receiver

I LOVED my original dishplayers, enjoyed upgrading hard drives the software was horrid. i finally tired of them and sold them on e bay to a canadinan for big bucks.

right after that dish shut them down. i just happened to sell at the perfect time

Cleaning out my garage and came across a WebTV receiver, a friend gave it to me, that had long given up on it. It has a hard drive that spins up.
I'm going to donate it to Goodwill and/or electronics recycling.

Boy a receiver from 1999. Boy, what a blast from the past. That was my very first pvr, a web tv/dishplayer 7100 model. Loved it at first but I quickly learned to Hate that damn receiver with a passion, when the legal battle began with Microsoft and DISH. That receiver never worked right again.

I remember getting service calls and seeing one of those things on the list of customer equipment.
The work order invariably was due to the 7100 going kaput. And because we had to be the bearer of bad news( Dish had discontinued them and was not replacing them) had to bear the brunt feedback that ranged from disappointment to anger.
