Any way to disable the nested channels "feature"? (and by "feature", I mean "annoyance")

I can understand the point of nested channels in the case of Dish CD, SiriusXM, PPV, and other large blocks of channels. But, they are also doing it with Internationals and RSN's, which not only adds no value, it is anti-value.

The Japanese language "pack" consists of ONE channel. So, instead of what I had with my VIP's, just a single channel #640, I now have two channels- 623-0 which is a nest for 623-1. Why would they do something so incredibly stupid and inefficient? My RSN's consist of two channels (four including SD and HD). In their case, I just want to have all four visible at all times, not nested.

It seems that if I expand the nest, it will stay that way the next time I view that Favorite list. But, now I have extra channels cluttering up the EPG, which is the opposite of what the nested channels is supposed to accomplish.

Also, the channels have different numbers, which is confusing.

Is there a way to disable this unwanted feature, and restore traditional functionality and channel numbers to those affected channels. (Somebody please say yes.)

I don't know it the Hopper has custom lists. We use custom lists only with just what we might want to watch. We have one for general stuff and one for movies.

It's not that bad, you don't need to use the guide. The channel numbers are the same just type in 99 then the same last two digits as before (same # as radio) and it goes right to the channel. Then you can browse other channels while it's playing.

The nested channels should stay open once you open them. Although I don't know if they will after the nightly reboot. Haven't noticed that yet. You can hide unwanted nested channels using the parental controls/channel locks feature.

I wish the nested channel would apply to the VOD and movie listings. it would nice to only expand these when you want to see them
Agreed. It is a GREAT idea for large groups of channels that are only accessed occasionally, like PPV. But, it kinda sucks for small groups.

I'm not talking about SiriusXM, as I clearly stated. It's a great idea for those.

I'm referring to Dish using nesting for small groups of channels, like my 4 RSN's and ONE SINGLE International channel.

As I said, they appear to stay open. But, that just ADDS TO THE CLUTTER, which is what nesting is supposed to reduce.

I hope that helped clarify why I find it annoying to those that weren't fully understanding.
