I'm trying to figure out something for my dad who has a 625. (yeah I know....he doesn't want to upgrade. He owns all his equipment and has since day 1)
His TV1 remote looks like hell with buttons wore off and it just looks scuzzy. So I happen to find in my box of junk 2 UHF (TV2) remotes. So I know they will work right now only on TV2

Any way to turn them into a IR remote so I can replace the existing one?

One is a 8.0 UHF PRO and the other is a 6.4 IR/UHF PRO

They should output an IR signal without doing anything except setting the correct address for TV1
Edit time the 8.0 needs a green #1 tab to switch to IR. I don't have a 6.4 so it's back to searching..
6.4 also has a green I/R and blue 2UHF tab you probably have a silver UHF tab.

the 8.0 has a silver "tab" at the bottom
The 6.4 has a blue TV2 at the bottom

oh well....back to searching in the junk boxes :)

If you open the battery case the 6.4 blue tv2 tab should be green on the reverse side. Flip it over to the green tv1 side press system info on the rcvr and press record. It should change the remote address.

when I pull out that tab (just figured out how to do that) ;) the other side is black

will have to try that when I get to my dads

also I noticed on the 6.4 remote there is a A/B switch on the side of the batteries. What does that do?

I was going to suggest that, or I'm thinking Remote Channel 1 on the receiver will work with any of the remotes?

take note of the groove positions.

Put it on the black side and program address. Should deactivate UHF and be able to control as TV1. That's what I did here.

After switching around the keys, don't forget to push menu twice in the front receiver buttons and then push record on the remote to pair the remote with the receiver.
