The $10 deal is for AEP subs.
If you have AEP and get the $10 HD Essentials you will get HBO-HD, Max-HD, Starz-HD, and Showtime-HD for $10 since the Essentials pack adds premium HD's to your lineup. Same as with any other premium package with Essentials.
So it isn't really a rumor, it was just misreported/misunderstood.
I was sure hoping it was $10 for JUST the HD versions myself, since I'm too damn cheap to pay for HBO, which I only want for a couple of series I want to watch on there.
