SSDs also suffer significantly shorter lifespans if you keep them much more than 2/3rds full. They cycle the unused space and the less unused space they have, the more they gnaw on it. Performance can drop precipitously as well as garbage collection becomes more frequent.The SSD would "wear out" before you could recover the extra up-front cost of the drive.
SSDs probably improve start-up times but is that so important? The ROI simply isn't there if power savings is the goal.
