Another Reason I love FTA

The High School Football team in my hometown is going for State Champs again this year. They are away on the other side of the state. So only way here to keep up here is via the radio.........Not if you have FTA, I found a feed and get to watch it on TV.

And Right now they are leading!!

Going through my weekend ritual right now. Typically will Blindscan 5 satellites 3 or 4 times each day to catch the event backhauls.

Incredible amount of awesome free and legal programming and most with picture quality that exceeds local broadcast over the air! Makes the Dish and Direct HD look like plastic wrap has been stretched across the flatscreen...

congratulations also>my local team clinched it last night, and will play in state finals next Friday 11am.

one of them is 91w ku band they had different sports on that satellite.

main ones are 85, 87, 91 and 123 (for west coast games)
secondary ones are 83, 89, 95 and 105

One of my reasons can be summed up in two words.

Picture. Quality.

It is stunning and sad at the same time to compare PQ from the HD FTA feeds to that on DISH or OTA.

Did you take your receiver off 480i output?

Yep...

I just cannot get people to see it. These same people though of course have SD receivers hooked to HD TVs and complain cause the picture looks worse.
They always say, "I thought this new $1000 TV was supposed to look real good"........

My wife drives me crazy with that. When we had a choice between HD and SD, she always had it on the SD channel. She is one that can't appreciate HiDef or surround sound. She doesn't like it when I turn on the Surround and pull down the 10' screen

Wish Dish would get rid of all their SD signals so they could increase bitrate for their HD. Not that they would see it that way...

Try to beat this... I was watching a DVR'ed show when I got the message 'out of recording space'... the GF filled the DVR w/ Judge Judy, DR OZ and Dr Phill...all in HD.
