It has been awhile since I have been on this forum. So, just getting back up to speed.

I have a question about MRV, I have a HR22 and HR23 both connected to the internet via my router. From what I read, I have two options:

1) Call DTV and pay $99 to have them install a slimline dish (I have an older dish installed probably about the time that HD came online with DTV). They will install DECA and I assume an internet connection kit too and anything else that is needed.

2) This part I am unsure of, but from what I have read I can connect the two receivers via a CAT5 or CAT5E cable and then contact DTV to pay the $3 a month for MRV, but it is unsupported, right? I do not have a Multiroom option in my menu, at least I could not find it.

3) Previously there was a MRV via the router wasn't there? But that was a beta?

Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide.

Actually you can keep your current ethernet connection to the router and just have Directv turn on MRV as unsupported for $3 per month with no hardware changes required. The Beta MRV ended in May.

Really? When I called DTV they did not offer this alternative. So just ask them to turn on the 'unsupported' MRV option?

Yep, they will do it. You just have to find a CSR that knows what they are doing.

Yep, just did it. I called tech support instead of the Sales dept this time and viola it is working now. The guy had to do some research on how to get it to work since the reference article on how to do it was missing. Great, thanks for the advice.
