Anik F2 (111.1W) signal strength curiosity

I recently switched from Bell ExpressVu to Star Choice, using a Motorola DSR 505 receiver. I was checking signal strength and noticed that on channel 293 the signal strength (as measured in the system status screen as the Ecb/No) was 6.9db while on channel 298 it was 7.9db. What is odd about this is both channels, according to LyngSat (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/starchoicef2_chno.html) are on transponder 31. Shouldn't the signal strength be the same?

not necessarily. Depends on where they get it from the uplink. I've seen that before where one channel of a TP is lower than another
