I've still using analog 5.1 on my HD movies. I've adjusted my speakers by ear. My receiver won't send tones through analog and I want to do a little better than my own hearing.

Any suggestions?

Did you try using the test tones through the HD DVD player?

Radio Shack sells a DB meter for a little under $50 (last time I looked) ...used to carry an analog version (still have mine). If you REALLY want to get dead on...this is one way!
