Actually I am interested in the input. Both US cable TV and ATSC use a standard RF input connector. ATSC tunes channels every so many Mhz. I am not sure what the technology is behind that RF input for a Digital US cable TV connection as I have never had Digital US cable before. Then the next question would be: Could a satelite box/card output a signal that emulates that signal to be used as an input for the HDHomerun. I suspect it is just better that I wait for the ATSC/ClearQAM tuner in the HDHR-4 as it will likely have a gig ethernet connection. These devices are tuners that have only IP outputs.
Actually I was just in the process of determining the difference between an ATSC signal and the US digital cable TV standard. Do any STBs output the US digital cable signal? I have not had to learn that technology as I have only needed to connect the HDMI.
With more research I have discovered a different product that exactly suits my needs. It is designed for satelite to stream on a server. Unfortunately it still uses older ethernet technology.
