America's Got Talent Season 6 (2011)

SH'Boss Boys and Seth Gable are gone. Professor slash is moving on to the semi-finals. To be honest, I took another look at Seth's magic act and it really wasn't very good at all. Also, I was a little shocked Professor Splash didn't finish any higher than 4th place in the voting. His act much not play nearly as well on the small screen as it does in person. Diving from 3 1/2 stories into a foot of water is dangerous and impressive to watch in person. Did you see the bruises and welts on Professor Splash after the show? Amazing!

While I appreciate what Professor Splash does and the danger involved, I just don't see it as a Vegas act that can sustain a show for 60-90 minutes. To me, it is an act better suited for the fairs and circus (which is probably what he's been doing until now).

SH'Boss Boys were just flat out awful. They should not have even made it this far. Same with that stupid fat dancer dude.

OMG! Is Stevie Nick terrible or what? I'm waiting for Piers to buzz her.
I did not think she was terrible; I thought she performed exactly how she always performs, OK and nothing special.

She was always the worst of Fleetwood Mac anyway and never had a good voice. Most of the good harmonies are done by Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham. They were also the ones that wrote most of the songs and composed most of the music. Buckingham sang most of the songs. Nicks for some reason got most of the attention and was the most known, but I always thought she was just along for the ride with the band.

With that said, I prefer the original Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer Fleetwood Mac over the Buckingham and Nicks Fleetwood Mac

Next Weeks Contestants:

I've highlighted the acts that I think have a shot of moving on to the semi-finals. Of course, they'll have to perform first:

Avery and the Calico Hearts (singing 9-year old girl trio)
Charles Peachock (juggler/fire breather?)
Fatally Unique (hip-hop dance team)
Frank Miles (quirky breathtaking stunts)
Melissa Villasenor (comedian/singer)
Sam B. (fat-arse sweaty dancer)
Scott Alexander (illusionist)
Taylor Davis (singer)
Team iLuminate (wearable wireless lighting system act)
The Kinetic King (chain-reaction gadgets)
Yellow Designs Stunt Team (BMX stunt team)
Zuma Zuma (acrobats, jumpers, dance, jugglers)

As usual, too many singers. We have AI for singing. This show should focus more on other talents. If there are singers performing, then they should focus more on performance, stage shows, and bands, rather than just singing talent. American Idol is for singing talent

Man, I hope the YouTube acts are better, because this years performers stink compared to last year.

Absolutely! The judges continue to pawn this season off as the "best talent ever" yet, Piers is buzzing two-thirds of the acts - rightfully so. Let's compare this year's talent pool against the Final Four from last year:

1. Michael Grimm - besides his $1 Million grand prize and Vegas show, he has released two Albums that have sold well in the R&B category; and he is currently touring with Stevie Nicks.

2. Jackie Evancho - has become a Star! Her first album was certified platinum by the RIAA with an excess of a million copies in the US, making her the youngest solo artist to go to platinum. Her second ablum, released last month, is certain to go platinum as well. Her performances are always "sold out" and she has performed with several industry legends to include Barbra Streisand and Susan Boyle on her latest album.

3. Fighting Gravity - performed an excellent show this week on America's Got Talent. They are gearing-up for a 2-hour Vegas style show sometime next year (kind of a Blue Man Group).

4. Prince Poppycock - well, not quite everyone's bag of tea (pun intended) but he is managing to earn a living thanks to his appearances on AGT.

I just don't see any of the acts this year rising above Prince Poppycock level...but I could be wrong.

I don't think Avery and Frank will make it through. I do think Melissa has a shot.

Charles Peachock. Okay, if anyone wants proof this is one of the least talented group of performers...this was it. I can't believe Piers was the only judge not to buzz him. Yes, the audience seemed to love it. Go figure! The judges are arguing. Heck, I like this guy just because everyone hates Piers.
