America's Got Talent Season 5

I just don't see it Dodger. I love beer and I love ice cream, but I would end up with having to change my shorts if I combined the two. Besides...who would pay money to see a group called The Fighting Cocks.
You never had a beer float??? :D

I can see Poppy Cock singing weightless while the others perform their weightless choreography with Poppy

OK, I am trying to figure out the point behind the Youtube performers on tonight's show. Why have live auditions and several elimination rounds when someone can step right into the competition from Youtube? Also, do these Youtube acts really suck or am I just in a bitter mood this evening? I find myself looking for a stage hook to whisk these pretenders away.

Prince Poppycock has been visiting our thread. Little did I know one of my posts in mid-August would serve as the inspiration for Poppycock's Top 10 performance the other night. :)

I want to see a network get pulled off the air while commenting in a football game on how the South Carolina penetrated Oregon's defense and the constant pounding and the spurt of energy that led to the score!

And now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Gotta love those Gamecocks! :D

Speaking of...does anyone know who the guest performers are for the final and results show? As aways, I hope they bring back Terry Fator for a guest appearance...and I hope they never bring back the out-of-tune Chicken Catcher. Also, I wonder if they'll try again to bring back Susan Boyle after having been denied by Lou Reed. I'm sure she would come back if Piers asked her. We shall see...

'America's Got Talent' Week 15 Recap: The Final Four is Set - Yahoo! TV Blog

S~
I agree with the author of this article...until he said...

"Surprise Cut: Michael Grasso

How this extraordinary magician — with some of the slickest disappearing acts we saw all season — didn't make the top four is beyond judgment. His finals trick — a must-see where he shows up in a different body of someone onstage — was spectacular and tailor-made for Vegas. If that wasn't enough, his personal story of three kidney transplants gave an extra reason to root for him. But alas, it wasn't enough. Michael, good luck to you."

Sorry, but Michael Grasso's last two illusions were so basic and predictable (seen it a hundred times before) that he didn't deserved to advance. Seriously, Grasso's final tricks were obvious and unlike he first two tricks.

Also, the author felt like Grasso having three kidney transplants should affect how we judge his talent as a magician. WTF? You either have talent or you don't - plain and simple. If anything, it makes me want to vote for him less because he should just keep his yap shut and be lucky to be alive. Seriously, almost everyone has overcome difficulties in their lives...and these sob stories have no place being brought up in a talent show. That's why I couldn't stand Kite Boy and Christina & Ali...well, that and the fact they didn't have much talent.

OK, so which acts are coming back to provide entertainment this week? If I see Mary Ellen in the freak show I won't be able to reach for the remote fast enough. However, I wouldn't mind seeing entertaining acts like (at least I thought so): Genetal Daredevil, Clownvis, Danger Committee, Sponjetta and even some of the more popular acts like Rudi Macaggi ("I like you!"), Simeon Amadeus, etc.

With only thirtysome hours until showtime, I wonder what the finalists are going to bring to the stage tomorrow night. This is easily the most talented and exciting final in AGT history. My questions are:

- Will Defying Gravity once again step-up their game, or will they come out flat or appear like, "Eh, I've seen it before?"

- Can Prince Poppycock top his previous acts, or will he finally take his act too far and appear clownish?

- Will Jackie Evencho once again sing like an angel and move the entire listening audience, or will she merely look and sound like a cute kid singer?

- Michael Grimm will perform well, but does anyone think he can actually win this contest?

I agree! I didn't even have to rewind to figure them out! ;)
What was going for him though, was the element of surprise. And that made it rather entertaining!
The other magician had perhaps more difficult tricks, but his presentation was less impressive.

Between the two singers, Michael has no chance against Jackie, unless she falls apart or something. Prince Poppycock will probably put out another spectacular show. He is a true talent, but his performance is not everyone's cup of tea, so I don't think he can win it all. Defying Gravity has a real chance, if they can make their performance even better (I thought adding lasers was a nice touch!) However, I am afraid that Prince Poppycock can steal some votes away from them. I think it will be Jackie in the end.
Ironically, she is the only one of them who is not ready to put out her own show in Las Vegas. At least not yet... ;)

I think they are going into tomorrow's performance: Jackie, Poppy and Gravity...but there is not much separation, they still have to perform, and any of these three can win. Michael Grimm will certainly put on a good show, but there is no way he can overtake all three of the top acts.

Also, unlike last week in which I voted for everyone in the Top 10...I am only voting for the winner (all 10 votes) and the others get nothing.

I think Prince Poppycock will get a show in Vegas even if he does not win AGT. There are too many casinos in LV that are dying for a good show. After all the publicity plus his talent, casinos will be falling over themselves to sign him if he desires.
