rec: viewsat pro pvr
type of LMB i currently have:
"DUAL SAT QUAD OUTPUT SWITCHABLE Ku LNBF"
input frq: 11.7-12.2 ghz
output frq: 950-1450 mhz(non-stacked)
linear polarization:
vertical 10-15v
horizontal 16-20v
using a 60E dish
thanks

What you have should work.

35.6° Elevation
210.5° Azimuth (Geographic)
21.7° LNBF polarization tilt (skew) Turn LNBF COUNTER-CLOCKWISE

Dish is a little on the small side but should get AMC4. I have a dish kinda like it and just aimed it at AMC4 over the weekend. Got most everything at or near the same as the 30" dish gets

With a 60e dish you skew the dish, so add 90 to the skew (equals 111.7 skew). With the dual sat quad LNB, the centre LNB needs 22KHz turned on. You should have no problem getting RTP with a 60e dish, I get it with an LNB 10 degrees off centre on my 60e Star Choice dish (and I'm in the same area).

ok i tryed everything so far still no luck i know you guys say it is possible to use the starchoice dish but im also being told that im wasting my time with it that i need at least a 30" dish?? also whats kinda wired is that i get 0% signal but at times up to 75% quality?? thanks

A 30" or larger dish would be better, but you are not wasting your time with the Star Choice 60e, as it is more than adequate to get AMC4 (all FTA channels), as I can attest to by the fact I have my AMC4 LNB 10 degrees off-centre (which means I have an LNB strapped to my dish which is about 3 3/4 inches off the centre of the arm). I get all channels even at that distance.

Here is a site to plug in your postal code address and get the exact numbers you need for aiming: Satellite Finder © Satellite AV
(don't forget to add 90 to the skew)

If there is a Star Choice 60e dish anywhere near you (that is getting Star Choice) that is extremely close to the direction that you need to point your dish (your dish needs to be pointed only a little bit to the left, when standing behind the dish).

Don't know what to make of the signal/quality readings you are getting (don't have a Viewsat Pro) but quality is the important thing. Don't forget to take your time aiming, move the dish ever so slightly, wait a couple of seconds, then continue.

What is the LNB settings you have in your receiver? It should read something like this: Standard LNB, LNB local-freq=10750, 22KHz on, DiSEqC off.

thanks guys i will try again i dont undertsand the feed numbers your talking about were do i changes these numbers on the viewsat pro?

there is probably the transponder info in there for AMC4 and it shows as such
12169 frequency
H polarity
3003 symbol rate.

There is a way to change that frequency to 12033 but I dont have a Viewsat so I dont know off the top of my head. You might want to lock on the satellite using a different transponder in the box. something like
11860
H
28138
