Hello

If I get my own SAT setup, GeoSat pro and DSR2000 Receiver. can I still get, say, AMC? If not for free, pay a monthly to acquire it? The same question for any other premium channel?
Thanks!

Mark

GeoSat pro and DSR2000 will not get AMC(the channel) as a subscription is not available, nor possible. And it's not an FTA "channel". Some of your "Premium Channels" are available on C band requiring a 4DTV receiver and a 6ft dish. Skyvision.com has the low-down and may have the basic receivers. Otherwise, they're only available via cable, or either Dish or Direct.

Generally speaking, you will not be able to get many cable-style or premium channels in the clear. Occasionally, you might find CNN, The Weather Channel, or other similar channels temporarily uplinked on a satellite without encryption. The History Channel was unencrypted on one satellite for some time, as was Biography. However, you can't count on anything that is FTA staying there forever. In my opinion, the best FTA finds are wildfeeds and backhauls.
