Does anyone have any information on the AM21 OTA tuner? I wanted to get 2 for my HD-DVRs since I used the OTA tuner so much with Dish and was told by customer service that they are no longer selling them. Without the OTA tuner, I am missing several OTA subchannels.

It shows on their website under equipment-receivers-hd dvr, but when I click on order now, it does not let me order.

I was told, IF D* has locals from the sat in your area, you cannot order them from them ..... yes, I thought it was stupid too.

You can get them here for $ 59.

Brian: Keep calling back. I have HD locals and I still bought an AM21 from Directv for $50 + tax. I hooked it up to a HD receiver, but not to my HD DVR. This is the Email from them. It was charged to the CC I used to open the account.

Yeah there no rule against buying an AM21 , there is a rule on another offer that involves the tech installing a ota antenna that only available if locals are not in your area .

When you get to the "ACE" department , tell them it orderable under order code 0070 Remote and Accesssories.

Did they ever figure this out ?

Can I have the difference in money back from them from when I ordered online because they would not send me one, I never asked for it to be installed ....

Should I just ask for the ACE dept? Like I said the woman that I spoke with said they are no longer selling these devices since you cannot order it on the website. I don't believe she knew what she was talking about since she had no idea what Over the Air was or what a subchannel is...

easiest way to get there is pound zero alot that will giet you billign tell them you want tthe ace department as you want ot order hardware.

once you xfer to ace tell them you want to order an am21 which is located under remotes and accessories 0070 in our order system.

I got transferred to ace and this agent was like I hate to ask this but I don't even know what an AM21 is...

She was clueless...I ended up reading exactly what you posted and this agent that I got was like did they give any other hints? bahahahahahahahaha



Eventually she goes I FOUND IT!!!! WAY TO GO BRIAN...GOOD JOB!!!!

About halfway through placing the order she goes I'm sorry this is taking so long. This is my first AM21 order and everyone is watching over my shoulder :clap

This wasn't my best experience with customer service yet..but it'll work.

as im looking into directv i want locals
they told me they have my locals, and wehn i asked they named off new york stations, not my locals. but wont give me the option of the am21. how can i get this with a new install?
and anyway to get it free? i didnt have to buy anything with my 622
