Am I bending the cable too much?

My very nice installer, left a lot of slack on the cord so that I could route it around my furniture, so that it doesn't show. I tied up the rest of the cord. My question is, am I bending it too much? I've heard "microbends" (directv video I saw) were bad, but how much is too much?

That's fine - no problem.

Using a 10x bend radius minimum, that would be nothing less than about a 3" radius bend.

I caught your post, sjvirchow, and I'd be happy to help with this! Coiling the wire is fine, as long as you don't kink it. Kinking it will create a crease in it, which will damage it.

Rule of thumb when coiling coax, nothing smaller than the size of your fist.
