Allen Media Group is laying off most of its local TV weather forecasters and will centralize regional weather reporting from its Atlanta studios of The Weather Channel.

Allen Media Group is laying off nearly all of its local television meteorologists and will produce regionalized weather reports for its local TV stations from Atlanta, The Desk has learned.

The centralization of its weather forecasting comes amid broader cuts at Allen Media, the company founded by comedian and interviewer Byron Allen. In recent months, Allen Media has shut down local newsrooms in smaller markets and concentrated editorial operations through regional “hubs,” and eliminated some low-rated morning and weekend newscasts at some of its TV stations.

Allen just needs to sell off his assets (tv stations and networks) before he runs them in the toilet and can't use them as a bargaining chip when he's declared bankruptcy. The guy has made a handful of decent shows, but he knows nothing about running networks or tv stations. He's sued companies for not carrying his channels and made certain claims for them not being carried, but the fact is that the guy just isn't talented in running networks or TV stations. He needs to stick to producing TV shows and game shows.

I have a job for him. A good military job, involving a toothbrush and latrine.
