During "Monday Night Football" game it was announced that Michaels will be the new play-by-play guy on ABC's lead NBA announcing crew, replacing Brad Nessler.
I can't say I think much of this move. Michaels may be a "name" announcer, but how can you give the top job to a guy who hasn't called a basketball game in decades, if ever? At least Nessler had prior experience doing college games. Besides, everybody who watched ABC's coverage last season knows that the true weak link on that crew is the tie-dyed dufus.
