AL CENTRAL

Tigers win again tonight and pick up another game on the rest of the division, now 5 games up, that's the most I can remember in a long time.
They have won 6 straight, let keep up the good roll :)

11 games over .500 at home and 2 games under on the road.
Still working on the road record ...

Only Boston is ahead of them in the AL.
Never would have thought that when the season started ... I was just hoping they would play good ball , defensively and pitch well, never expected them to be in 1 place, particularly this late in the season ... what the heck, they may as well go for it now and see if they can win the division at this rate.

If Magllio comes around and the bull pen picks it up, they could go somewhere.

Jimbo

The bullpen hasn't been that bad, not as bad as the 4th and 5th spots in the rotation.
As for Maggs, he better find his stroke, or we will not be in first come September. Overall , I think the club is playing well, defense saved their butt last night.

I was just telling Jimbo the same thing. The "reverse Sampson" effect. Observers said that Maggs was killing the ball during BP yesterday. Something he wasn't doing previously. All I can do is hope, we really need his bat.

The only reason Vlady and Mags cut their locks was because it's HOT out. Seriously, I don't know how those guys could stand all that Fuzz on their domes in this heat! It's 87°F here in Cleveland. I can only imagine how hot it is in Cali.

Matt, it's hot every summer! They kept their curls all those other years. We went from low 70's (just beautiful), to four straight days of low 90's here. (Just miserable)

Can't speak for Magglio, but Vlady did it BECAUSE he had nowhere else to go with his slump. He has always been known for that big, beautiful smile on his face. We hadn't seen it this season till afternoon BP 2 days ago when he emerged from the dugout looking like a MAN...10 years younger...with the weight of the world (and all that hair) off of his shoulders. He laughed and carried on like it was Spring Training again.

So did we when he slapped the ball around Angel Stadium during last night's game!

Yes....Nice win tigers! Maggs couple of hits last night as well, maybe turning the corner. IF they can get his bat going, adds a nice weapon!

And to think, much of the local media (radio hosts) had this team for dead about a week ago

We'll see ....
The Inter League play usually does wonders for this team.
Lets take a closer look in about 3 more weeks when they have been back in AL play.

They are 9-6 so far in IL play, 8-4 in the most recent series.

OK, who actually PLAYS sports?

Shaq once had a video game of his own- a fighting game!
