I have an AirTV Anywhere which is a three tuner over the air DVR.

I am having an issue as yesterday a new OTA Subchannel was added to one of my locals (MeTV Toons 35.8)

If I go into my local channel setup and scan for new OTA channels it finds all the channels but the new 35.8 channel (which all my TV's in the house are now receiving) All the other channels on 35 are there (35.1 - 35.7) but no 35.8.

I have a feeling that AirTV (Sling) needs to update our market so I can scan the channel in.

At the moment 35.8 is just running a loop about MeTV Toons starting on Tuesday... but I sure hope they get this working before Tuesday so i can set some shows to record, as they are going to be running the very first episodes of a lot of great cartoons, which I am looking forward to seeing.

can't you edit the list to add or hide channels? I would wonder if it's actually scanning and "seen" but because it is new and guide data hasn't been updated to include it, the device is auto-hiding it. I've had this happen with other OTA scanning devices (HDHR, namely), but I've been able to override and manually add. In my cases, it was usually a weak signal that didn't meet the threshold quality/reliability for the device to add it automatically.

It scans all channels then you can edit it to remove the ones you don't want.

I remember one day I scanned and it found all kind of channels I normally dont pick up from New York City and while I could preview them in the window when I tried saving them, it would only save the channels available for my zip code.

BTW if I go to Local Channels | AirTV and put in my zip code, it lists all the channels I can and do get, those not listed in there I do not get... even though I can pick them up. (I get Springfield Mass channels fine OTA and they are not in the AirTV guide)

I hope they update their database.

Try setting a different zip code that's nearby, but different than what you have now. Then rescan.

That’s why I am posting here.

I use to know all the sling / air tv folks but with all the changes I don’t know anyone there anymore.

I unplugged my airtv box last week.It pained me,but I splurged for the ZapperBox.It is the best ota device I have tried. The signal tuner is better than the airtv or tablo tuners.I'm not that fussed about being able to watch my local channels on the go,which is one advantage of the airtv.

Yes it appears that way I can pick up the Springfield DMA with no problem, but it wont let me add Springfield Channels. This is a Hartford Channel and I am in the Hartford DMA, but since 35.8 (MeTV Toons) is not in their database for my DMA I can't add it even though its in my DMA via OTA.

I thought MeTV toons goes live Tuesday 6/25.

Well You can always hook up the antenna to your TV and rescan from there. You would get the channel you want and eventually guide data when they update for your channels in your DMA. I use my Tablo and there is no limit to the channels I can add. I am in the Beaumont/Pt.Arthur Texas dma and I am 65 miles from Lake Charles La dma. I can get all there channels and mine and the guide populates for both. I can sometimes get Houston dma when the tropo-ducting is high and I can get those channels with guide too. They don't last once the waves clear up and I have to go back in and delete them.

I know I can get it on my TV... the issue is I want to record the launch of the channel at 6am on the 24th. :)
Got a VCR and video tape? You could record it that way. Although I got rid of my VCRs back in 2000 after I got my first Webtv/dishplayer in August of 1999. I had a DVD recorder too but it broke years ago and they no longer carry them in the stores.
