Hello
1st post since joining. I'm just getting into FTA as a hobby and was wondering where the best place would be to order or locate a preferably 6 foot c-band dish preferably the black mesh type. I sourced an old primestar dish locally to experiment with ku but from what I've seen on FTAlist.com and other sites ku is mostly religious and foreign stations other than cozi and some news feeds. Where I live we have a homeowners association that wouldn't allow a visible BUD but I could sneak a 6 footer behind the fence. If anyone in Fort worth or Saginaw Texas area has a c band for sale or a reputable site where I could order one I would greatly appreciate it. I've seen some Chinese sites that have some but don't know how reliable they are. if anyone knows a good source for ordering a dish or anyone selling one I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Mike

Fun hobby indeed..Sunday it is and what a great day to just drive around and look in yards for a BUD.Knocking on doors is how I got most of my dish`s and a high percentage of folks just want these dish`s out of there yard and will give them away for free. Then there is craigslist.Just did a search of your area and you are in luck for a 6 footer..2nd link. Not a fan of that particular dish but you mentioned 6 footer in a HOA.

Thanks guys, being the new guy I really appreciate the help. Thanks for the craigslist links hockeynut. I've been cruising around older 50s-80s neighborhoods looking for c bands thats how I got my primestar dish, the lady was more than happy for me to haul it off. I'll keep a lookout.

Welcome to the site and Hobby!!

Might check everybody's favorite flea-bay. Haven't looked lately, so have no idea if anything is listed there now or not. Tek2000 does or used to offer a 7 footer. Their mounts do leave some things to be desired and their current version is better than one I got on my 8 footer. I have beefed mine up and it is still working, about 2.5 years. In a somewhat sheltered location from most winds, so that may have something to do with it still working, or could be that an 8 footer just doesn't load the mount as bad.

If you could slip it by, or get permission, you would be happier with a 7 or 8 footer. What ever you do, have fun at it.
