Finally heading out EARLY in the morning to get poles (pole/Mount & one in ground) & Mount.Got guy works with City (VERY small town) helping.Has equipment & trailer,etc.Still have to haul 4 pieces Fiberglass Dish.Would not fit in van.

I stopped at a house a couple of years ago with a 10' Winegard Pinnacle out back with a bunch of weeds growing around it. They were not sure what they were going to do with it but I left my name and phone numbers with them. Well I drove by the other night and it was gone. The next day I happen to see people outside and so I stopped in and asked about the dish. "Well we lost your phone number and we were wishing that you would stop in again soon" is what they told me. The dish was just ripped down a couple of days ago and it is now piled up in the back of a pickup truck. I can still have it and pull the pole out if I want but this kind of took the excitement out of the dish for me. The actuator still might be good and maybe those panels will come in handy somewhere. I just wish that I would of stopped in again about 6 months after the first time I asked about it!

I rescue satellite dishes is quite an old art. Take a look at this, Birdview 8.5' and feed scalar; taken from a family moving; they made it into a fish pond, putting the dish face up and plugging all the holes with silicone that held everything. The dish was graffiti on the ground and reflector side. There are lots of such "pond art's" out there boys and girls to grab back; and build a pond out of rock and concrete!
A "dual C Band old 950-1450 school" set-up fits perfectly inside of the Birdview scalar ring (Chaparral corotor II+ is too big; and the scalar needs center drilling again. (2) LNB's; scalar; feed supports; and a H-H motor and bolt kit is what I am putting into it to get it working again.

doing good , a actuator uses a bar and extends much like a hydraulic jack a h2h motor uses a half moon gear to turn the whole dish ( look much like 1/2 of a cars flywheel)

I got the dish in pics 1,2,3 home It's a 10 foot Channel Master SMC fiberglass dish that I've been coveting . How I got it down by myself was I tilted the dish so it was like a big bird bath. Then I rotated the cap mount so I could access the sections easily on the roof. Then I unbolted the 4 sections then lowered them off the roof down to the ground. The seller was really nice. His 2 sons helped me lower the mast pipe to the ground so I could get the 4.5" cap mount off the mast pipe. Tied the sections to the roof of my Toyota and drove real slow home. Now for a rest of my sore muscles then stage 2 the cleaning

So you not only did most of that yourself, if not all, but you did it in the dead of Winter? With snow everywhere on the roof? And you got it home without the rope melting underneath the car on the exhaust pipe?

No it took two days to disassemble on Thurs and Fri when it was about 50 deg F so no snow or rain on the roof. I used a hard hat & safety harness and rope while on the roof. It only started snowing here yesterday when i took the panels off the car. the snow's melted now. The ropes at the back are tied to the frame so they don't go all the way under the car near the muffler. I am crazy for FTA though
