Adding a second HD receiver

I'm adding a second HD receiver to my setup - currently have an Eastern Arc 1000.4 and a single 622 with diplexer and seperator. The installer brought a single line in from the dish.

Am I correct from my searching that I need to run second line from the dish, into the house, and to my new 211K? That trying to add a splitter somewhere in the setup will just cause weirdness?

Would like to avoid climbing up to the dish if possible. Appreciate confirmation that its necessary before I get out the big ladder, or any info on hardware that could be installed inside.

Yes,one single line from dish to the 211K is what you need.Be careful climbing the ladder!

With the 1000.4 set up you actually have 3 outputs that come from the LNB, so you would need a second line to connect the LNB directly to your 211k.
