Adding a reciever

Is it possible to add a receiver without having a technician come to the house?
I tried to add a receiver online but it adds a dish and professional installation.

If you are getting a replacement yes if a new line no. If you are going from sd to hd you will also need a tech.

I think if you get a new receiver from a dealer you can do it your self then phone it in.
