Trying to help a neighbor.... she has a Dish 1000 that goes from the roof to her condo, and there is a Holland DPD2 connected to the Dish 1000 that says "5-2150 mhz".

I want to run coax to a new 211 that she is getting on an additional tv.

I assume I can't just use a cheap $5 splitter to split the signal, correct?

What would I need to properly split the signal from the dish so I can add another receiver?

Thanks,
Robert

Yeah you have to pop off the 2 screws off the lnb and run a line from the free port to the 211 (assuming you have 1 receiver now). Then run a check switch and should be good to go. Make sure its RG-6 cable rated to 3000 mhz to keep from having problems. And your correct, splitters are a no no anywhere in the sat line. The dish 1000 normally uses a dpp twin whcih can support 2 receivers boxes ( single or dual tuner). If you are adding more you will need to add a external switch.

Make sure to check the labels on those ports. There are ports on them for accepting signals from other dishes. You don't want to connect to that port.

new E* LNBF?

Lease fee question?
