Add a receiver

I am thinking of adding a reciever 510 which I own upstairs so I won't fight with my son over recording time. Question can I add it on line and authorize it there also? Was on their web page but have dial up and may fell asleep while looking for this info and I may have missed the info. I now have a 625 hooked up to a phone line. If I add the 510 will it need to be hooked to a phone line also? And do I have to pay two dvr fees? Thanks Guys

You can hook it up and make sure info channel 101 works, but you will have to call DISH to have it activated.

And no, you don't have to hook it up to a phone line. Dish wants you to, but you do not get charged anything extra like you do if it were a dual tuner receiver. You can hook it up if you want, but that may leave it open to ordering events and ppv's.

Yes the 510 will have a $5.98 DVR fee and a $5 additional receiver fee.

To clarify Boba's comment, The $5 additional receiver fee will be charged regardless of whether you hook it to a phone line or not.
