Access America help

Got my dish zeroed in on Galaxy 19 and I have auto scanned. I'm positive I'm on it because I've confirmed other channels. I just dusted off my traxis dbs3500, is it possible I have older firmware? I see in the receiver it's referred to Intelsat 5 which is old. Or do I have to manually enter Access America's info manually somehow.

Well I read that doing a search, but it was a few years ago and their website made no mention on this.

Ok well I couldn't find glory star 5 so I could listen to GCN. I sometimes read about people saying their receiver wouldn't scan it and they manually entered it.

I'll have to read the manual

Ah found glorystar, I think not being able to find access America caused a panic. I stepped away and came back looked for the glorystar channels I found 3 "star 1,3, and 5" appears the dbs3500 is working just fine.

Been away from the game for a bit, I think I want a HD receiver now!

I haven't looked at mine in a while either but I'm pretty sure you can rename the satellites on it with the remote control.

and how to edit or add a satellite
Turn receiver off, then back on with the power switch in the back.

On remote...

hit menu
go to Installation
go to Antenna Setup. To the right of Satellite the cursor will be highlighting the satellite name.
on the bottom of the screen you will see
button #1 will rename the satellite
button #2 will Add a satellite
button #3 will Delete the satellite selected.
hit button #2 to Add a satellite, the satellite name will change to "New Satellite"
hit button #1 to rename the satellite
Exit and save
