I notice most of the Dish boxes have an analog input. Anyone know if it possible to record analog television to the HD, in addition to satellite television? I imagine there would have to some compression chip or something in the box, but haven't seen any reference to compression in the user manuals, etc. Thanks!

Are you talking about the RF input for an OTA antenna?
I don't know about the HD receivers but I believe the other DVR receivers only use this to be able to switch to OTA broadcasts for viewing only. They cannot record what this input receives.

The RF input is a pass-through only, Dish DVRs have no encoder so they can't record non-satellite sources (HD DVRs can also record from digital OTA stations).
