A third remote for 2 TVs on VIP722K? A second primary?

I apologize if this has been covered before, I did try to find the answer but I can't figure it out. Here's the situation.

We have a VIP722K in our living room that we watch on the main TV. There is a Dish 21.0 remote for it. As I understand it, this is the primary remote. The code for it is 2. There is another Dish 21.0 remote for the second TV in the bedroom. This is the secondary remote. It is code 3.

I have bought a third Dish 21.0 remote. I want to use this to control the 722 on the main TV. So it would be a second primary remote? Can't get it to work is the basic problem. I have figured out that this 'second' remote is not the secondary, it is a second primary. So how do I get the system to recognize it? My attempts so far simply make it a take over the upstairs TV.

1. Press and hold the number 0 until the pop-up 380 appears on the screen.
2. If the pop-up says "resolve address conflict", Select CONTINUE three times to initiate data transfer. This will set the remote's address to the receiver's.

Also, make sure that the #1 is in place on the end of the remote.

This was a big part of what I was missing. I did not realize that the piece of plastic with the number on it was A. reversible, B. functional. The one I bought came with #2 visible. Switching to #1 made all the difference, thanks again!

You might check the back top center on your remotes to verify model #s. The 722 should come with a 20.0 and a 21.0 remote. The 20.0 remote is IR and the 21.0 is IR/UHF. The 21.0 can replace a 20.0 but a 20.0 can't replace a 21.0 and they look the same.
