Is there a sat finder I can use on my android phone when I don't get a signal on the phone? No signal.
Here is my situation a dish mounted on a rotar on our house boat.
It is properly mounted and settings are right on.
For the most part I normally locate my sats 110/119, without issue using my compass.
Except when we tie up at a new location and a tree becomes part of the problem I cant always tell if its blocking me.

That's why I want a sat finder.... and if I am getting a signal what sat finder app do u recommend I don't mind buying it

How about the "augmented reality" DishPointer app? Satelliteguys even hosts their official support forum. (Note that I have no affiliation with DishPointer, and I haven't tried it myself.)

The problem is that most cellphones use AGPS which gets its positioning from the cell towers, not satellites. No cell signal, no "GPS".

But if you do have cell access, then DishPointer is a very good app because it has the dish settings as well as giving a visual idea where the satellites are.

I use an Align-A-Site, which is non-electronic. The periscope feature gives a pretty good picture of when the view is clear with the caveat that you add a little clear space for 129 on the right.
