I make this post, not to minimize any of the difficulties many of you have been having with your 922's, but just to chronicle my experience thus far. So far, I have to say it has been very positive.

I ordered the 922 the day it was released and had it installed a few days later. The install went flawlessly and because of errands I ended up leaving my 922 in stand-by mode for several hours. In hindsight maybe that was a good thing as I have certainly read the horror stories of others who attempted to use the box right away.

I have had only 2 missed timers thus far (on 4/26) and thankfully had my trusty 722 still set to record those shows. I have had no issues with accessing the Sling content using the Dish site. I have been in airports, hotels, and work and have yet to receive an error that an immediate reconnect did not resolve. I have my 922 connected via homeplug thanks to the free adapter provided during the install. My wireless bridge was too flaky and caused network issues so I tried homeplug for the first time. Although I am not a fan of having to bypass my surge suppression equipment the network connection has been rock solid. I have FTTH (the TV service is still old fashioned cable, hence Dish) with an 8/1 connection so I know that HD will not stream while out of the house. On my home network (1st generation Linksys wireless G router) HD streaming works with no issues both with the compatible Sling software or the website.

As far as EHD goes, I have had good success, with patience, moving over 40 recordings to my 922 from my 722. I have found that the drive cannot be in a power save state or I get an error. I successfully moved 38 shows at once this weekend and have already watched 10 of them. Thankfully no errors. I do hope they add the ability to transfer off of the 922. I do record entire seasons of shows to watch in the Summer Re-run period and use an external drive to avoid space issues. The transfer seemed slower than with the 722, but I did the bulk transfer early in the day and did not check back for 5-6 hours.

I feel for those of you who have had problems and hope they get resolved quickly. I know a lot of people monitor these threads and may be staying on the fence due to the issues many of you have had. I just wanted to put the alternate perspective. I am no fan of having to use the Dish website to view Sling content, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I want full EHD capability, but with the 1 TB internal drive I have a little time before it becomes an crisis. I realize my tolerance of those issues may be a little greater than yours so decide accordingly.

Hopefully the technology gods will not punish me for this....:D If my 922 starts acting strangely now I will come back and repent.
