For the most part I love my ViP622 w/ my 32" Toshiba LCD, but there is one thing that is rather annoying. As you all know when you "power off" the receiver you get the lovely bouncing Dish logo. It appears that when you go to this mode, the receiver changes from my default setting (720p 16:9) to some 4:3 mode (not sure if it is 480i or 480p). Well, when I turn my TV back on it gets the 4:3 signal and switches to 4:3 and then when I hit "enter" and turn the receiver back on it stays in 4:3 and "squeezes" the 16:9 image into that space. To get everything happy I have to hit the "Pic size" button on my TV remove to get it back to "Natural" mode.

While I think this might be partially the fault of my TV (I would think it should detect the video change and go back to Natural mode) but why doesn't Dish just bounce their logo at whatever your default settings are?

lakebum, yeah that was more so about the KC HD locals going pixel happy. I did find the setting on my TV that stops the automatic change, but it still seems odd to me that the Dish doesn't just keep the receiver in whatever mode you have the receiver set to for that "screensaver"

Could they, If they wanted to?
