Since I posted the future with 8K and 16K.
I thought I'd share this very cool youtube site I found.

Before beta and Vhs this was the consumer Reel to Reel video recorder format.
This guy has loads of these old tapes and is transferring them digitally save and share.
It's like being a time traveler.

These old tapes are incredilby hard to work with and he says the hardest of any format to save.

He shows how he saves these old tapes and transfers them.

He seems to be THE authority in saving old video footage that was recorded in the very early 70's.

But he's done an amazing job and you can see loads of tv shows that most thought lost forever.

Amazing music performances, talk shows, news broadcasts and more.

Like a grab bag to our American history.

So great to be able to watch them.

The first link has all his old videos he's put on youtube.

That's cool! Thanks for the links! :)

My sister had one in 1968. She was an early tech adopter. She also had early hand-held scientific calculators, and had an early TRS-80 computer. I bought her first floppy drive for her (8").

I always was a fan of the Tomorrow Show and Tom Snyder.
One of the shows this guy has transferred is a interview with four of the original Little Rascals.
Very cool to see them as adults. Spanky, Darla, Buckwheat (looking like he'd had a hard life) and one other of the gang.

There is a Dick Clark's Rockin Eve with early Pointer Sisters before their hits.
All four sisters back then.
On the intro to the show they show a limosine and some woman gets out with a HUGE Tiger or Lion on a leash.
My god to even allow that for safety but also by todays standards not cool to use animals like that..
But still quite amazing to see.

This is quite the grab bag of shows.
Many don't list full details so you need scan through them.

It's a miracle these tapes have survived.

Glad you enjoyed it.
