Did you miss this part? "Others say it's a great marketing coup that will have the HD DVD guys eating Blu-ray for breakfast."

You know if you have a good product you don't have to spread FUD and spin facts and declare your competition dead every other week. If anything reeks of desperation, it is Sony's tactics.

Did you read the follow-up at the Dossier?

Apparently a Toshiba rep says they (Toshiba) have nothing to do with this offer and it does not represent an official manufacturer's price drop or a new marketing strategy by the HD DVD camp.

Looks like the Home Media Expo is just trying to get registrations up and generate a little free press. I'd say it worked.
