Its almost April 1st. Soon the next waive will be ordering there 622 upgrades on the $99 rebate offer.

Does any one have the actual text of the fine print on the rebate?
Any one have a Web link to the FIne print or a scanned copy of the rebate?

I want to be ready in case I order at 5am on April 1st.

Some Questions (Im sure others will have more)
=========================

1.
What if you want out of the 18 Month contract because something better comes a long like FiCos (fiber)?

How much do you have to pay to get out of the contract?

2.
Since its an 18 Month contract and a lease, what if the 622 breaks, do you get a new one? How much will it cost to get a new one?

Just looking for the fine print . . . .

The details haven't been released to the public as far as I know...

If you leave for FiOS (break your lease agreement), you will be charged of $13.33 for each and every month left on your contract. Additionally, you must return any leased receivers and, needless to say, your DVR Upgrade fee is non-refundable.

If you're under DHPP ($5.99 per month) E* will send you a replacement receiver pre-paid box in which to return the broken unit. I'm not sure what it will cost if you're not under DHPP.

Another point, not in the "fine print" but widely known - It's not a $200 rebate but rather a $200 credit added onto your account upon return of the qualifying DVR. You will pay $299 upfront with the lease order then receive the $200 credit after the return.

If its like every other leased receiver, if you dont have the DHPP and its leased, all you would ever have to pay is the shipping (14.95 or so) unless you sat it on fire or jumped on it, hit it with a hammer, threw it in the yard for the dog, etc etc..

You got that dead on. I fear most people think that they will only be charged $99 when they order their 622.

Yep...and you'll have to sit on that $299 for awhile. The $299 is charged the day you place the order for the 622, but if/when it takes 2 months to get a 622 install date, then that means it'll be 2 months before you can return your 921/942 to GET the $200 credit.

A related question: Do you have to order your programming when you order the 622, or do you do that when you activate the receiver?

hopefully they'll use the 942s to make 622s, but I dunno if that will save them any hassles

Rumor mill has the 942s being rebranded and sold to Canada for ExpressVu use. E* wants to get rid of them in the states, to minimize the complaints when the existing HD MPEG2 channels go away. Perhaps in 2007?

What i don't like if you take the $99 dollar deal you have to commit to 18 months. Well i called dish to get in on the $399 deal so i can keep my 942 also and still a 18 month commitment? I am LOYAL to HD and don't want to commit to 18 months. Yea i know buy a 622 and i will not have to commit still dish could have done things better for use 921 and 942 users!

I wish i could sell my receiver to ExpressVu!!:up

If you get a $200 "credit" to your account, does that mean it will only be applied to programming and not refunded to your credit card?

I've been paying the $1.99/month fee for around 3 years...did this switch to $5.99????? I've looked all over "My Account" on Dish online, and cannot find anywhere a listing of what I pay for, but I swear it's only $1.99/month. Is this a different, additional program? I have a 942 and an old 4900.

If this is correct, and I pay on an annual basis (January-January), I won't get my $200 back until next year???
