942 remote problem

Anybody know of any devices that change UHF remote signals to IR signals. I have a 942 and the TV 2 remote is too far from the receiver and I'm unable to change channels.

Extending the UHF remote antenna on the back of the receiver closer to the TV 2 location is not an option.

I would like to use a xantech IR repeater that uses the coax wiring that already exists between the receiver and the the TV 2 location, but I need to change the UHF signal from the remote to a IR signal for this to work. I still can't find a device that does this.

I have put a 2 way splitter on both ends of the cable "one backwards on the receiver and the antenna at the other end.

Have you tryed using the attenuator that comes with the receiver? If you have one, put it on the receiver then put the antenna on it.

would'nt the attenuator decrease the signal instead of amplifying it?

The attenuator blocks out other signals that might interfere with the remote signal.

The attenuator is for cutting signal down. I think it drops it by 3db and is not for use with the remote antenna.
