921 to 622 hard drive swap?

I have a dead 921 with a working hdd filled with programming that I would prefer to be able to view in the future. I have a new 622 arriving from Dishstore later this week. Does anyone know if the respective drives are compatible and would they be possible to swap to the 622 or another working 921 without an auto reformat wiping the data clean?

Unfortunately the programming is gone.

Besides the 921 uses IDE Drives and the 942 uses a SATA drive.

So moving the hdd to another 921 will wipe the programming as well?
