921 motherboard identified at CES show

Hi all,

Hopefully this isn't old news.

Via is showing the 921 at their CES show booth as being based on one of their motherboard products.

See The Extreme Tech article at http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,1435696,00.asp . It's a long article and the 921 info is on about the six page, which includes a picture of a 921 at the Via booth. Here's a couple of quotes:

"Surprise, surprise, the 921 is a Via Centaur based PC, with some extra circuit boards for handling the HDTV and satellite tuning chores. It runs a version of embedded Linux as well."

"Dish Network's HD-DVR is based on the Via C3 processor and older Pro133A/686B core logic."

The article is written by Lloyd Case who I've always enjoyed reading and seems to know his stuff very well. Anybody out there done any tweaking of this hardware?

OOOOooooo aaaahhhhhhh

1.2Ghz processor with a 64kb L2 cache. Chip only uses 18w therefore no processor cooling fan needed. Cool.(literally)

Padlock Advanced Encryption Standard for 128 bit on-the-fly, on-the-chip based encryption. That would make the data stream very hard to crack.
