Anyone else have issues with their 921 smart cards? As I was getting ready to watch my favorite TV shows tonight, I found all my channels in the guide red. I thought this was due to the fact that I did not pay the bill because Dish charged me for the MLB package which I canceled 3 months ago. I called DishNetwork and paid my balance less the $45 baseball package charge that is still on my account, even though they promised it would be credited. They also told me that even though it was their mistake, I would have to pay the sales tax on the MLB package. So... I paid the bill. I then called and spoke to the CSR who told me she would have to get tech support on the phone. After being on hold for 15 minutes, I was transferred to tech support. Tech support told me that I needed to swap my BLUE card in the 921 to the yellow card. The 921's do not have BLUE cards... They come with YELLOW cards. I told the tech support person this, and he said, Oh... Well then you need tech support. I said I thought YOU were tech support. Ok.. another 15 minutes on hold, and a level 2 tech support person. He says I need to swap my card. So, I have Scott get the yellow cards. I should note when we swapped the cards on our 721, dishplayer, etc. we were told to throw away the yellow cards they sent us for the 921, as it was a mistake and we did not need them. Scott swaps the yellow cards, and it doesn't work. Surprise. Oops tech support hung up on us!
Dial DishNetwork again, this time using the card activation number, as tech support told us to swap the cards. The woman who answered the phone told us that you should NOT put those cards in the 921, as the 921's already come with yellow cards and these cards will NOT work. GRRRRRRRRRR
Let me transfer you to tech support. On hold the customary 15 minutes....
Get to tech support, and the guy said the 921 may be defective and they are going to arrange for a swap out. Scott asked her how could BOTH our 921's be defective in the SAME way in one day????? I guess that question was too hard for her because we were hung up on AGAIN!
On hold now again with Tech Support. It has been 10 minutes now, so I am expecting another 5 minute wait... Not that I hope someone else is having these issues... but somehow, not being the only person does offer some comfort!
