Interesting.

Has anyone here actually confirmed a 9.5' Birdview sighting? IIRC the only 9.5 footer listed in the advertising material was a perf dish?

serious Birdview viewing:

We had some fantastic Birdview document scans by a couple of members.
Here's the one I'd like to draw your attention to.
It shows Birdview made only the one solid dish (white), and they called it 9'.
We all agree that one is about 8½ feet across the business end.

According to the document, all their other dishes are perforated.
The commonly found black perforated dish, is about the same 8½' size.

I'm not aware of anyone documenting a 9, 9½, nor 10' perforated Birdview in the wild.

Now, there are some big white solid spun aluminum dishes out there.
We've seen just a few posted over the years... but they are not BV.

I'm sure if the fellow calls his a Birdview, he knows what he's talking about.

See the pictures so you know what you're getting: 6 LNB support struts & unique black H-H motor system!

Some folks have removed Birdviews and gotten them for free.
I paid maybe $135 to the owner, and had to dig out the concreted-in pole (never again!).
So, give the guy $50, $100, $150, and/or take him some refreshments of his choice, and make a friend.
The dish is well worth it.

I have a Birdview Model: MM-20/20, S/N: 64501 purchased new in the early 80's. It's between 8.5' to 9' in diameter (guess - difficult to measure with tape measure). Let me know if anyone is interested (Dallas, Texas)

shuggy does your birdview still work, is it in use? Or if not, how long has it been since you tried moving the dish with the motor? Hope that somebody close by can get back to you about the offer.

Either hook it up and use it, or find someone who will treat it with respect.
Get that baby back up and running.

Worth anything?
Removing it is a bitch.
And they are quite a bit of effort to refurbish.

If you want it gone, make it attractive to someone crazy enough to put in the work. - :up
