811 is a POS...

811 has worked fine for a year, until the latest software upgrade.

Now the OTAs drop out more frequently. EPG problems have been consistently inconsistent and frustrating.

And the PQ seems to have changed. Have been connected HDMI - DVI to a Mitsubishi DLP (14 months old) and have been pleased. After last software upgrade picture went extrmely faded, thought it was the light, replaced ($250) no difference - put the old light back in and am saving thte new one. Re-connected the component cables, that did not produce the best picture originally a year ago, and the difference was night and day with the component giving the picture I was used to, even with the old bulb.

Anyone else seeing this or is just the same old 811 issues.

I seem to remember them playing with the brightness way back, around P.281. The DVI and the component outputs definitely have separate controls inside the 811.

Having said that, I've been keeping the 811 on DVI for the last 6 months, and I haven't seen any changes with the newer releases.
